I didn't realize that this post have been hibernating in my pending write-ups section for so long and we went here during my birthday! It has been kinda hiatus lately resulting the degeneration of memory...

As a Starwood Privilege member, Rewards? It's just so easy to get. Dining privileges where you dine for free, great discounts rate at participating restaurants. Be it seasonal gourmet fares to authentic local treats.

Not cheap for sure, but for a fine dining experience and a 50% discount we get, we didn't complain. Total bill came up to about RM400++ after discount plus a complimentary Tiramisu (whole cake). Thanks to Starwood Privilege again :)

Jaya ONE Food Crawl!

When so many bloggers were cordially invited to have a round of Food Crawl @ Jaya ONE, we were excited to participate as we've not tried any 'restaurant-hopping' at such a hype place.

As you may know, Jaya ONE is one of the IN place for dining for most people. A variety of cuisines to choose from, it's almost a fuss to choose sometimes and truly speaking, Chris and I don't really remember what's there to try from too. Paradiso Italian Restaurant @ Taman Danau Desa

This churned out some lip-smacking homemade fares of authentic Italian mix.


Montenegro is located along the coast of the Adriatic Sea and borders Croatia, Albania, Bosnia, Herzegovina and Serbia. Ok. All the while it sounds like some South America region to me...


When mom mentioned quite sometime ago that she tried an unforgettable homemade pizza that my dad brought her to, we started pestering them to bring us over.



Paradiso reminded me of the Italian restaurant that we went to in Europe and nothing beats it. I've been searching high and low ever since then for a good piece of pizza & my fave aglio olio. We've been disappointed for quite a few times. It's a bliss that we finally manage to check this place out.


Displayed with paintings and family portraits, you'll find this place homely; harmonized with some homemade Italian fix. Besides, nestled in an area which is mushroomed with pubs and bistros, a lay-backed restaurant like this is almost forgotten. Perhaps an Italian dinner before the happy hour? "Perfetto"

Prawn Aglio Olio - RM30

A depiction that bares all. Look at the number of prawns!  Garnished with herbs,chili flakes and drenched in olive oil, one of the finest Aglio Olio that we loved. Prawns were fresh too.

Pasto Italian Cafe & Restaurant @ Balakong

It's been a week since I neglected our blog over the happening CNY this year. So much to catch up since we missed this festive season spending time at home last year building a giant snowman during Cap Goh Meh instead of spending time feasting on CNY meaty spread & exercising with mahjong when weather is tremendously hot.

Back in action feels so right. How was yours??

Bits & pieces of the beginning year when the TIGER came roaring:

#1 We welcomed the Tiger

#2 Traditional Hakka Vegetation ala Grandma's recipe

#3 We welcomed the lion too. Lion dance by cousin's bro troupe to usher more good luck into our home.

#4 Just when I thought our V-Day would be put aside to usher the Tiger year, Chris brought me out for dinner after sessions of family gatherings and Chinese feast. To dwindle away those mounting fatt choy, pork feet and sea cucumbers, we went for Italian. On the very first day on CNY. *glee*

Pasto was a good choice

Green is universal. Deco was simple yet comfortable. Enjoying each other's company while chilling in a semi-aristocratic environment Italian restaurant is a temporary great escape from hot gambling sessions.

Shrimp and Orange Salad - RM10.50

Since they were out of mangoes, we had them replaced with oranges instead. To our surprise, it was equally good. A refreshing start of vege serving and oranges were thirst-quenching.

Mushroom Soup - RM6.80

Capped with bread pastry, hidden underneath was the mushroom soup. Thick and creamy. That's what we love.

Escagort - RM18.90

I was nagging Chris to order this after spotting them at their mini aquarium. Strong aroma and flavours of cheese and garlic, it was very delectable. Extra credits given to the fresh escagorts. Dip in your garlic bread for extra strong-smelling pungent-tasting flavours. Yum.

Spaghetti Marinara

With fresh herbs and garlic sauce, the seafoods (prawns and mussels) were also fresh. Tastewise, it was light and moderately good but the seafoods infused well into the noodles.

Both. As we get to enjoy priceless family moments, without missing the traditional V-Day dinner. And the best part is, we're not over-charged for the dinner! As dining in at Pasto was very affordable.

Pizza San Francisco @ The Mines Shopping Fair

Have you made a stopover at The Mines lately?

I was very surprised when I revisited this mall so close to my heart only a year later.

Why so close to my heart? 

The Mines was the place where Chris and I first met. So touched.

*sniff sniff* 

A place I'll remember even when it's torn down. (Touch wood! choi! choi!)

Not happening at all now! Since its management was revolutionized, the mall has became a hotspot for more shoppers and diners.

While shopping for my 'labour clothes' there one day, AiWei and I decided to pop by Pizza San Francisco for some affordable Italian fix.



 

Linguine Salmon - RM17.90

Served bountifully in dill cream sauce, this portion was very filling and its tasty, creamy sauce left me nothing but satisfaction. I always love my pasta creamy. Salmon was generously served too.

Fusilli Mushroom - RM14.90

A churn out of wild mushroom & pasta, served with light cream sauce, this serving was very suitable if you are opting for a lighter meal. I got to try a spoonful and thought it tasted bland. Perhaps my salmon portion was too overwhelmingly tasted.

We suggest you to think of propelling your way to The Mines to check out a rather newer environment. Parking only 2 ringgit maximum mah.

Sorry about the short post as this was done after my working hours. Felt tired easily nowadays. Hope I could cope with my working life well.
