In Search for Halal Dim Sum

She loves Chinese food....
She adores Dim Sum especially....

Too bad Halal food is the only option for her. And being a considerate bro, Chris went blog hopping in search of the perfect halal dim sum for his sis.
While we're on our way to KL few weeks back, we dropped by MinMax, which is located at the PNS Darby building for a dim sum lunch.
What's more rewarding was all dishes were priced at RM2.90!

There weren't much drawbacks from this meal, besides the pork-free agenda, and I wasn't really expecting much. However, the food proved me wrong. Halal Dim Sum can be very enticing and delicious as well, and considering the price we paid for, it's definitely reasonable as having usual dim sums (halal) at hotels is costly. Though not the best, watching his sis enjoying the hearty lunch is very much contented.
We'll be heading for more halal dim sum soon! :)

Siaw Kah's Kampung Ayam Sup Pedas!

We were again caught loitering around Kajang neighbourhood with no idea what's for dinner. My favourite curry CCF have been closed for weeks nearby and it was all Chris's preference to fix on a meal for two hungry being........

Dwelled in the area known as Sungai Chua, this shop known as Siaw Kah 萧家 is famous for their Hot Soup and Fa Diu Gai (Chinese Wine Chicken) for quite some time. Claimed they serve one of the best hot soup in town, I was kind of unwilling to say so since I had my best hot soup back at my place in Seri Kembangan.... ;P
Well.... you'll never know till you try! :)

The Fa Diu Gai (Chinese Wine Chicken) gave a kick start off the menu as soon as its sizzles stir the aroma right in. With a hint of chinese wine that blended well with the sticky dark sauce, the meat was just right too :)
Having these with white rice... very similar in temperament! *just like us* ;P
We had these for RM7 (per head)




As for another main star, the Sup Pedas (Hot Soup) that was at the glare of publicity, turned out not so satisfying after all... *we were right* :P
There were chunks of pork, chicken, vegetables, ginger slices and the fiery white pepper. However, we still think that the Hot Soup at SK do give better stimulating factor to ignite your palate :) *er... don't know about now, think their standard of food should remain the same I suppose*
Also priced at RM7.





For just the two of us, there were sure lots to finish.
But we're not done yet :P
Fried Otak Otak sounds interesting and for RM10, you'll get to enjoy 8 pieces of piping hot crispy otak-otak. I personally still prefer the steamed version though... ;P






Though the food was overall rated mediocre and did not manage to lure us to a second visit, we still manage to say; "At least we're way repleted with all those typical nourishment" *self-satisfaction*

Days drawing near to leave, there are more matters to think about and all these are fussy......
Visas, documentations..... Troublesome.

Of all affairs to deal with, what to bring over will be another nuisance. Limitations of weight worries me. Scotland ain't near, just hope I won't fail to remember the important stuffs. Even if I do, I can always get them there right? *grin* (Think Sterling!!) *maybe not*

Whatever that is, it's fun to shop now!! On and off nowadays, you'll see me hanging around with multiple shopping bags with the excuse of 'getting stuffs to be brought over'. And thanks to my shopping and makan kaki, AiWei, who evoke the 'power to purchase' in me, I'm getting poorer nowadays ;P
But thanks gal, for accompanying me to get the stuffs I really need ;)


Zuup Soup Bar had been the place I've always wanted to try since reading reviews from flogger friends last year. There was a rave about their delicious mushroom soup that I just gotta lay my taste bud on.
Besides an array of different types of soups, Zuup Bar also offers main courses of ala cartes and also set meals.



2 girls suffering from compulsive buying disorder should opt for their Lunch Combo instead.
Why? Cheaper ma..

The International Combo was priced at RM14.90. It offered a selection between 5 main dishes and a drink. Butterfish cooked with Court Bouillon and Dill Hollandaise Sauce was Girl 1's choice. Another Hot Lemon Tea to restore her state of mind will be well suited for.





Still being fanatic, Girl 2 decided to have a combo of Spaghetti alla Carbonara with a soothing glass of Apple Juice as an antidote. Priced at RM13.90, there was a generous portion of al-dente spaghetti covered with hams and mushrooms. What a remedy! ;P






Of all, the best treatment was this:
Wild Mushroom Cappuccino at RM6.90.
Thick dark blend of shiitake, porcini, button and grey oyster mushrooms topped with a dollop of whipped cream and a very small hint of coffee.
The girls were awaken form the first spoonful they had. Claimed one of the best they ever had, the girls were once again orientated to the surroundings.





Status: Symptoms relieved.

After clearing the bills.....
Out of luck, Girl 1 and Girl 2 were once again exposed to extracellular infections.
They ended up with their old chaos again.
Verdict?
Hopeless.
No eye see.

I was in high spirit when reading along. Plus, the completion of the final presentation took the edge off my nerves.

This is just the beginning. There are many more tough subjects to face. I was thrilled! but at the same time, I was afraid.

Nevertheless I'm proud to say that...... in a month time......

I'll be leaving for Scotland!!!

Mixed feelings. Certainly will be missing lots of people, things around and the FOOD!! *sniff sniff*

Beyond doubt, there's one thing I'll not stumble upon... and even if I do, it'll not be the same.

The Durian Pancake.




Chris and I were hanging around the lowest floor of The Gardens while I was busy scrutinizing around in search of the aroma of the pancake.


me: Yer... don't have one...
him: what you want? Just finish lunch still want to stuff yourself?
me: *ignoring comments* Look!!

- a lady was calling out as we approach, "Durian pancakes! Wanna try?"
After the free sample tasting....

him: A box please!!
me: You're fast ;P

Price: RM10 for a box of 6 (durian flesh wrapped in thin crepes!)




Love him. Always pamper me with the goodies I want. He's another reason that I'll miss home so much! :)

May Keng Cafe @ Seri Kembangan

I'm back!! ;)
Have been assigned to the Seremban Hospital for a week of tiring attachment. Shut in the wards for consecutive days with busy doctors, occupied nurses and ill patients, you'll need good immune systems! ;P The experience was no doubt incredible, despite stressing out initially while reading the doctor's illegible handwriting, stuffy environment and standing all day! The people there was great, but I'm glad I'm back again ;P

May Keng has already built quite an excellent state of prominence with their specialty of Lam Mee. Nestled in Pudu, it has extended further to other areas to draw even more different customers in and I'm pretty confident most of you already know about this place.

Lam Mee...
The thick gravy or broth smothering each strands of noodles viscously was just alluring. Still living up to their standard, we can now enjoy their fares at a closer distance from my place!!
Its branch in Seri Kembangan has really good business. On and off, we drop by for a satisfying lunch ;P
RM 5 for a plate for big portioned lam mee is worthy;)






Another star of the restaurant is the Curry Noodles. And again, thick and aromatic curry broth with adequate ingredients that'll instill and bring out the 'kick'! Also priced at RM5.




Not getting enough? You can always go for their fishballs, dumplings or even beancurd with fish paste fillings. Just as good :)
