Continued from our previous visit to HaLong Bay...

We woke up the next morning feeling all energized up and ready for more sight-seeings on the 3rd day.

Some stop-overs in between our favourite food slots?
We're very typical tourists who can't miss out some of the famous & most visited spots!

We're very into the myths and ancient history of Vietnam which added colour and curiosity to the oldest capital city in south east Asia & in present, Hanoi had turned lively, composing stories with full of character and ever-changing expression.

Here's more of Hanoi!

#1 Enjoy your breakfast at Sofitel
(please refer to our 1st post on details of the hotel)

A good morning filled to the max with a widespread f yummy breakfast. From western to authentic Asian selections. I had pho everyday! :)

Mr. Curry (Japanese Curry & Sweet House) @ The Central, Singapore

I feel like heading down South again.

Time spent there the last time we went were just not enough.

Thanks to Citygal's sweet cousin, we got introduced to this Japanese Curry House located at the Central.
Mr. Curry was its name.
The name tells it all. Curry was the ,ain agenda for dinner that night.

I found a story for Mr.Curry (a sister outlet together with Pasta de Waraku, under Waraku corporate)

Mr. Curry was a chef from Curry Land.

Together with Mango-nyan, they traveled the world in search of curry dishes. They finally stumbled upon the finest curry in Japan. With the passion of sharing, they wanted the whole world to experience the wonder “Japanese Curry”. And so, they decided to bring you “Mr Curry”. They hope that all will enjoy the experience and that those lovely curry flavours will bring satisfaction and cheerful smiles to their guests.

Please enjoy the wonderful journey of “Mr Curry”.

Choose your desired flavour! We had Original :)

Sarawak Laksa @ Restoran Tar Chong, Equine Park

Mention Sarawak and we'll be reminiscing all the good food we had back in Miri.

We would rarely venture out our own territory for the hidden good food even when they are just so near us. Don't you agree? Well, maybe not all of you, but definitely us. *shy*

Sarawak Laksa.
I mentioned Sarawak again. Let's muse over Part 2 and 3 this time.

Sarawak Laksa.
We've not tried the famous Sarawak Laksa stall in Bangsar, obviously Aunt Christina's, although there has been so much rave and enthusiasm going about that made us really wanna go. Too bad, we didn't. YET. *shy again*

This time, we decided to loiter around our area for food seriously and plan to blog about it.
Yes, it's Sarawak Laksa. From Equine Park, Seri Kembangan

Ahwa Hokkien Mee @ off Jalan 222, PJ

An initial thought of heading towards the SS2 food court was diverted to counter some Hokkien Mee cravings at the Famous Jalan 222 Hokkien Mee stall. Having heard so much about this Ahwa Hokkien Noodle specialties, we decided to stop by for dinner on a weekend & we thought of comparing this to another delicious Hokkien Mee stall near my place.

Instantly, I was told that the stall located at Equine Park, Serdang & another near the South City Plaza were was originated from AhWa.

Oooh.. so we are now in the ORIGINAL restaurant. Ahwa Restaurant is situated on the border of Section 14 and Section 51A, off Jalan 222 in Petaling Jaya.

Their renowned Hokkien Mee off Jalan 222.
Wok Hei will be the word you're looking for when it comes to 'dai chow' fares like Hokkien Mee. I love my Hokkien Mee with lotsa black sauce till it'll stain my lips! Yum.
Somehow, we find their successor who had established another stall near my place are better. Tastier and not too dry. This portion we had was a wee bit too dry, but passable.

SOULed OUT @ Desa Sri Hartamas

It's been around 2 years since the 4 of us really sit down for a dinner and chat all night long. I wish it would be longer.

I remembered so well our sharings about a decade ago, when we were still young, naive girls trying to ace in class and did we talked about boys? All the time especially now. FYI, my besties are single ladies!

IMG_1329

We were at SOULed OUT for AiWei's birthday. Initially we thought of blind folding her and sorta kidnap her to the place. Sadly, she was the only one who could to direct us to Souled Out.

Souled Out is another popular hang out venue for people of all ages I noticed. I've been there when I was just a high school girl & I have totally forgotten about this place until one of them reminded me. Though I've been there, the environment seemed new to me.
Did you know that they have 3 different dining spots?
Al-Fresco - the casual setting where you will feel the hive of activity, the Garden - for those who would like to hear the chatter of crickets as you sip that luscious cocktail & Mezzanine floor - a cosy corner being cocooned in air conditioned comfort.

We love happening environment and we chose to be seated at the al-fresco dining area.

Max.@ iHaus Western Fine Dining @ Jalan Jati, Off Jalan Bukit Bintang, KL

Foodie Girl here.

Your one and only source into the Scandalous Appetite of KL's elite.

Spotted:
Double C were out on a New Year's Dinner meeting up their elite acquaintances: KB and CG. The Sugar was back from the country that has reached about -8 by now (yes.. it's UK) with the Bean, but Bean skipped dinner. A came with her.

Pause.

I am getting confused myself with all the alphabets. Let's use names. Great. I failed imitating Gossip Girl badly. Let's not attempt it again.

Ok. To keep it simple.
We planned a fine dining dinner at Max on New Year's Day, intending to celebrate Chris's and Aiwei's Birthday as well, which turned out really well as we enjoyed the food, the homey ambiance as well as each others company; gossiping and made fun with lame jokes.

Max. Who has never heard of it? We're pretty sure almost no one will hands up.

Used to be known as Max! Kitchen &Wines nestled around Tengkat Tong Shin, they are now relocated to iHaus; a German Interior Showhaus, a bungalow that haus international brand names in furniture. They have ample parking space for patrons & a large garden with really green grass.

It's my sideline when it comes to elaborating reasons.
Reasons behind the Merriment!

#1 Max @ iHaus
Expect to feel pioneering upon entering the iHaus, as you'll be greeted by a dining room filled with different interior settings, let it be furnitures and home decos. There was also sections of living room with different contemporary sofa seats and furnitures potraying a prevailing fixtures fashion of modern days like today.

#2 Fine Dining - although Chris's wallet was screaming 'Ouch!'
Elites do this often. We self-declared we are. Although it's the name Elite that we love.
We tried the Max’s Menu Degustation  for RM120 per pax, that came with a set of 3 starters, a main course, a dessert and a glass of Itallian Batasiolo Cascine Prosecco. This 5 course tasting menu is created by their daily availability of the fresh ingredients, and the starters were all based on chef's recommendations.
Needless to say, we were very satisfied.

We might be elites with scandoulous appetite. But there's always a limit. So we decided not to waste food and ordered 3 Max’s Menu Degustation along with 3 other ala cartes.

Verdict: Food was great, although we thought that their scallops could be tastier. Worth visiting :)

One's image can sit enthroned among the bustle of this threatless realm, being king in your own domain, that's what people comsidered to be superior in a society usually feel and do. The elites.
We're all elites in our own way.
Just remember to strive for it and seek opportunity. Not the other way round.

And who am I?
That's another secret I'll never tell.
You know you love me.

Malones, Irish Restaurant & Bar @ KLCC

My tiring face after work.........

My miserable mood when thought of the traffic jam that I'm gonna get myself into....
All of these just dwindled away when Chris dated me for a happy hour after work. And the best part was, it was a Friday evening. This just augmented the whole uplifted mood.

Oh. The BF misses our UK life so much.
Thinking of re-indulging in some familiar Irish pubs where we used to hang out but failed to go twice due to hot matches of the English football clubs, he decided to dredge up some memories from here; at Malones, located just next to the Apartment, near the outdoors.

IMG_0055

Heard that they offer a menu filled with an array of pork free authentic Irish specialties to their very own Chefs’ creation. Most importantly, the bar has a variety of creamy thirst quenching draughts to choose from! We're ready for some Guinness draughts baby!

He is 25. Kokopelli Travellers Bistro @ Section 14, PJ

The very first happy post of year 2010!

We were such spendthrifts at the end of the year!
Thanks to each other's birthdays who falls near Christmas and the year end sales. Countless parties and celebrations to attend in such 'hey hey yo! yo!' mood.

In conjunction with this birthday post, we would like to wish our bestie, AiWei a very Happy Birthday! Love you girl!
This means more makan and less curves to us all. *pats forehead*

When all happening and blissful events came heaping up, searching for the ideal spot to rejoice could be a twist and turn issue. I was lucky as his high school friends suggested that we drop by Kokopelli for a warm celebration.

What could one expect when you're seated in a mansion-based bistro? Very homey, we loved the ambiance and decos. Monotone murals on the outdoor walls, old school bookshelves, artistic paintings with plants and flowers to match with. I love it being simple and just pretty to look at.

Chris's 25 Bday
