"Remember to Remember"

Colourful Pan Mee

Tucked contentedly few blocks away from the church in the Serdang village area, a little coffee shop identified as Lin Chin is no longer unheard of by the residents and the students around. Even the white as well as the blue collars frequent this place during lunch hour.
What's the forte?

Pan Mee of various COLOURS.
You may select the colour available of your choice :P Don't get me wrong, no colouring used here, just an assortment of the different flavours.

Pick:

  1. White - normal version of the flat flour noodle
  2. Green - Broccoli
  3. Purple - Sweet Potato
  4. Yellow - Pumpkin
  5. Orange - Bell Pepper

The clear broth was a thumbs up, although I prefer its dry version...
Another popular demand and being acclaimed by most patrons around was their Curry Noodle. Sorry as no picture taken of this yet :P
Besides that, they also serve Wanton Noodle, Chicken Rendang and their homemade Nasi Lemak. Lots to choose from so that the folks won't be bored to tears ;)
FYI, you may opt for the ingredients to be had to go with your bowl of noodle. This will be well taken care of by the waiter :)

Completed. Almost.

Completion of Part A Master of the Pharmacy Program in IMU.
Something to be proud of.
However, a convocation with the well-groomed robe without a hood nor a mortar board? I was contemplating then whether to attend or not.
In fact, I found out that most of my batchmates did have this mixed feeling.

On second thought, I think I did work hard enough for this. Although not the best, every little itsy bitsy successes achieved should be measured and acknowledged right? And I was actually enjoying the progress of the event. Well, except the rehearsal session where I almost dozed off ;P

As the semesters progresses I became closer with the soon-to-be pharmacist friends. At times, I can see that we were still strangers, but yet chumming up with all of you is at ease. Glad to have all of you with me in Strathclyde!
Let's work...
for the final year at Glasgow....
For the REAL graduation!!!

Portraits to keep at heart!

my beloved parents

He's so supportive

with Prof. Peter :)

my tutor (Mr.Iggy - that's what we named him ;P) and MeiWen the babe.

Mr. Benny - um.. most ppl know him more than I do. As in: in detail. ;P

Being a student is fun sometimes. Despite the stress you'll suffer due to exams and reports, working hard to achieve your desired targets is one excellent way to grow up.

Being a daughter of my parents is a blessing. They never seem to push me hard. Never to fail them is my goal.

Being a GF to my BF is trouble-free. The BF is considerate, understanding and patient enough to listen to my qualms and sometimes I'm nagging him all the way and I suppose he needed a PCM and metoclopramide for the nausea and headache caused. Still Chris loves her ;)

Diligent and painstaking! I want :)

Milwaukee Steak Corner @ Balakong

Yum Cha...
Define it.
A term in Chinese where we call it "drink tea", and it usually refers having a cuppa or two at night especially during supper. However most of the time, we ended up having supper during the yum cha session.
And this time.....
Yum Cha comes heavy....
Somewhat sumptuous.

Friends decided to get together after months of not meeting up and some even years for not seeing each other. After long thoughts of deciding our yum cha venue, Milwaukee crossed our mind. It's been years since we have meals around there and it's time for a revisit since they've renovated. Although I've heard the not-so-good remarks about this place and their food ever since they renovated but since they've upgraded their place with live music, we wanna go have a look for ourselves :)

Decided to head upstairs where the live band will be performing. Surprise, surprise!
The environment, the atmosphere.....
These were not what I expected actually from their interior downstairs.
Air-conditioned, sophisticated lightings and a different menu. *more expensive definitely if compared to the pricing downstairs*

Kinda relaxing.. and the food was not as bad as I thought they will be ;P Gorgeously presented.
Pleasant food, best friends and great music to enlighten you all the way throughout the yum cha reunion.

Yum cha: Of great density with the right degree of delicateness. In a good way:

Full Loaded Cordon Bleu with deep fried breaded chicken breast stuffed with cheese and turkey ham. That's heavy.... but spectacular. (RM20.90)

Hawaiian Chicken (RM19.90) was another portion of chicken cooked to perfection. Charboiled boneless drumstick with pineapple and cheese. Hmm... they even stuffed sausages in it ;P

Charboiled Juicy Chicken Slick (RM17.90) has tenderized and marinated boneless drumstick grilled with spices with an additional of the mushroom sauce.

Another attraction of this restaurant was the Mushroom Soup served in a bread bowl (RM10.90). I wouldn't say it wasn't delicious but it's not the best I had ;P However, it's still worth trying out if you're mushroom soup fan like me, who will order any mushroom soup if you see one on the menu and try to make comparison from there....

Yum Cha: The Real Deal
Having thoughts of coming out for tea session initially, we wouldn't wanna miss having real tea.. ;P
Relaxing & Induse Sleep Tea (RM12.90) - refillable.
Yes. Lack of sleep these days. We need some boosters. Decent, with strong aroma and sweet, you'll find it taste better from the second cup of it. I think i slept better that night itself. haha.

Pasta de Gohan @ Sunway Pyramid (New Wing)

When it comes to pastas, I tend to lay my eyes intensively on carbonaras. And most of the time, I find most carbonara servings delectable. Call me stubborn, but I am helpless. Mockery I know :P
This is bad.
We should learn to change to accept new endeavours, different types of cooking methods.

However, Pasta de Gohan distorted my inflexibility. Know why? Imagine that there are 72 types of pasta found in their menu! Amazing?
Plastic mock-ups of the different types of pastas offered in their set of choices were magnificently displayed with bright lightings to magnetize patrons over. FYI, It has branches dispersed around Central, Marina Square, Orchard, Katong and East Coast in Singapore, named as Paste de Waruku. And now, Malaysians get to enjoy these fusions of Japanese and Italian dishes with no hassle of traveling down south. This outlet at Sunway Pyramid had just opened their doors on 9 May 2008 and with the fellow food bloggers, I get to enjoy the variety of lip smacking preparations as well as the friendly staffs' good-mannered services.

Patrons gazing at the replicas...

The place we sat was comfy and almost perfect for a tête-à-tête. Wooden tables and chairs, with some red details from the counter and flowers adorning the frontage as customers walked in was welcoming.
We were just spoilt with choices. However, the huge menu was really helpful as it was pictorial. Spent some time scrutinizing on each preparation :P
Pasta de Gohan sorted out and categorized their multiple choices of pastas according to the different types of sauces and here are some of them :)

1. Japanese Original Sauce:

Spaghetti al Nero de Seppia (RM28.80)
The squid and squid ink pasta is something I wanted to try ages ago and getting to really taste it for the first time left me with no regrets. I find its taste rather unique. Us girls, were extra careful and cautious while taking every bite as it'll most probably smudge around your lips! and I did :P
Perhaps you'll thought of avoiding this dish when you're on a first date!

Katsu Tamatoji (RM 25.80)
The pork cutlet and egg united well with the wafu sauce. The cutlet was fried crisply on the outer while the inner tenderness of the meat remained. Unquestionable. No doubt on the pasta; al dente of course.

Eel & Egg (RM23.80)
I have to say that this was one of my favourite as its tangy taste from the unagi slices with a hint of sweetness that adds the overall flavoursome tang to the spaghetti was a knock off. Wish there were more generous portions of the eel slices though.......

2. Japanese Basil Style Sauce:

Prawns & Octopus (RM28.80)
Couldn't resist the tasty home made basil sauce that enhanced the overall flavour. Prawns and octopus resting on the fair amount of spaghetti was also fresh and smothered with the sauce. I enjoyed every bit of it.

3. Japanese Style Original Cream Sauce:

Oyster and Bacon Carbonara (RM25.80)
Fettuccini coupled acceptably with the brackish strips of bacon and the cute lil' juicy oysters. Not being a huge fan of oysters, I still find these combo a decent one.

Lobster Carbonara (RM36.80)
Behold.... an exquisite serving of the 'it' pasta! Imagine having half a lobster topped on the pasta dish! And, it's carbonara! Good news for carbonara lovers like me :P
Quite a steal considering its price and the serving of this fresh large marine crustacean.

4. Pizzas:

Spicy Cod Roe and Potato Pizza with Mayonnaise (RM 20.80).
Very thin slices of crispy pizzas in which every bite taken was like munching up an enhanced flavoured biscuit. The spicy cod roe tasted superbly with the slice of potato laying above. Very appetizing and I just love it being served on the wooden round flat pan. However, RM20+ for this serving is kinda pricey :P

5. Rice

Japanese Style Doria with Scallop and Chicken (RM 26.80)
Can't skip the habit of having at least a meal of our staple food for a day? No worries, as this outlet has what they named as doria:
rice gratin.
There were scallops and chicken chunks covered bountifully with creamy wafu sauce, layering the piping hot steamed rice beneath. This was definitely very filling.

Coming to drinks and desserts, you'll never wanna miss them out thanks to their tempting depiction and featured sweet course.

Macha Float was positively refreshing.

Iced Lemon Tea

Parfaits.
A delicious dessert made by adding layers of ice-cream and syrup or any different flavours, in accordance to the menu, served in a moderately tall glass. The word parfait is actually a French word, meaning “perfect.”

Oreo Banana Parfait (RM8.80)

Tiramisu Parfait (RM10.80)

Ichigo-Milk Parfait (RM8.80)

Macha Azuki Parfait (RM8.80)

Last but not least, another sweet ending for the fellow floggers:

Shiratama Macha Monaka Ice Cream (RM7.80)
Decorated and arranged beautifully resembling a shell enclosing a pearl at its core, there were mochis and
sweet azuki bean paste married flawlessly with the ice cream.

Another step up for this restaurant was that the customers get to choose the type of pasta of their choice; spaghetti or fettuccini and... you can even opt for either with or without garlic, as some people detest garlic. The staffs here will remind you, so no fuss about it :) *wink*

It was another satiated dinner at the newly opened outlet in the new wing of Sunway Pyramid with BBO, Citygal, AiWei and Jennifer. With more eateries focusing near the ground floor of entrance to Sunway Lagoon, you are sure to spot Pasta de Gohan!
