Another 2 days to usher the brand new year of the cuddly Rabbit. During this festivity and celebration, probably more food is consumed than any other time of the year. Everyone must admit, and we would be searching highs and lows the most decent restaurant for a traditional 'Lou Sang' session and share the spread of Chinese feast with our loved ones; friends and family. It's a norm to expect vast amounts of food prepared that attribute various superstitious aspects for the fulfillment of health, wealth and happiness!
Where to this time?
Celestial Court at Sheraton Imperial to churn out a prosperous start perhaps? Let's chow down! FYI, the Extravagant 8 Menu is priced at RM888+ for a table of 8 pax exclusively for Standard Chartered Card holders.
Yee Sang with Norwegian Salmon and Fish Roe
A ritual to start off with a high toss of yee sang for a happening good year ahead. The chef has come up with an innovative idea of arranging the ingredients forming the shape of a rabbit running freely on the green green grass. Cute eh?
Braised shredded chicken soup with fish maw and sea moss
I must say it was my favourite dish. Rather than feeding yourself on shark fins, I think you would be even happier to treat yourself with some chicken essence. The chicken stock was very flavoursome as it has been boiled for approximately 48 hours. Imagine that! Adding the shredded chicken, fish maw and sea moss churned out a better flavour.
Roasted crispy chicken with chili oil sauce
Getting sick and bored of steamed chicken? This would be a kicking dish! Chef's very own signature spicy sauce that is made up of curry powder, dried chili.. etc.. Finger licking good. haha.
Two Varieties Of Vegetable Braised With Bamboo Pith And Mushroom
Simmered Cod fish with Chinese herb in superior broth
Fresh cod steamed perfectly and swimming happily on some tasty broth. yum... we hummed.
Honey barbecued chicken fried rice with scallops
Brimmed with ingredients, you'll be satiated with this. And oh gosh.. the portion is huge and we thought it could feed 2 tables!
Deep fried Nian Gao with Yam
Have always been the perfect dessert to end with during CNY. Not too sweet, Chris and I love how it's combined with the yam.
Sweetened Red Bean Puree with Lotus seed, Pak Hup (lily bulb) and Sesame Dumplings (Tong Yuen)
Tong Yuan that symbolize reunion is one meaningful dish we must have.
